ABOUT

Andy White - SRI-CONSULTING.CO.UK

I was formerly head of ESG research at Inflection Point Capital Management (IPCM) and Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, the number one ranked sustainable investment research provider acquired by RiskMetrics Group in 2009, and now part of MSCI ESG Research. In that capacity, I was instrumental in building and leading the research team and expanding the market for Innovest research in the UK and continental Europe, adding 50+ clients. At IPCM I helped in the creation of a number of new ESG fund products including Carbon Zero, and worked closely with PMs in the stock selection process. More recently I have been focusing on ESG research rather than management and am now in an ESG consulting role, which includes working on a green real estate equity fund and related index. During the course of my career I have undertaken projects for Unicef, the World Food Programme, WWF, Greenpeace, the Environment Agency, Norges Bank among others.

During six years at Innovest, I created new investment products and toolkits, working with leading investment banks, pension funds and asset managers. In addition, I led several advisory assignments, including the first Access to Medicine Index of pharmaceutical companies, an innovation index with SG and social index with Credit Suisse. I also was instrumental in creating an analytical tool for assessing companies’ performance in implementing the UN Global Compact, as well as the industry’s first sovereign risk product.

Prior to joining Innovest, I served as Managing Director at Core Ratings (a sister company to Fitch) and at PIRC, where I specialized in corporate governance, and ran ESG campaigns for local authority pension funds. I’ve worked as an environmental policy consultant for Ecotec and have industry experience at BASF AG and Cape PLC.

I’ve spoken at Carbon Disclosure Project launches and appeared on BBC News24, CNBC and Bloomberg TV, as well as running workshops for the UN Global Compact, and contributing book chapters published by Cambridge University among others. I have a Masters in Environmental Management and an honours degree in European business studies.

In my spare time I'm also part of the environmental and social justice art network, some of my works can be seen on my Facebook page, please see link above
